The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is for workers who have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory and want to become permanent residents of Canada.

Introduced in January 2015, the Express Entry program has become the most popular stream offering Canadian Permanent Residence. Individuals are chosen based on their skills and ability to contribute to the Canadian economy.

These pilot programs allow you to come to Canada on an open work permit and get the experience needed to be eligible for permanent residence. It is occupation-restricted but you don't need a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to be eligible.

Family Sponsorship

In order to be eligible to sponsor family members, you must be at least 18 years old and either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.

Agri-Food Pilot

This is a 3-year pilot program designed to address labour shortages in the Canadian agri-food industry. The most demand is for meat processing and mushroom production. This program gives you the opportunity to gain experience and work towards become a permanent resident and citizen in Canada.

Self-Employed

This program allows you to immigrate to Canada and settle down permanently as a self-employed person.

Work Permit

Foreign workers require a work permit in order to work in Canada on a temporary basis. The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) is designed to enable Canadian employers to hire foreign workers in response to labour shortages.

A study permit allows foreign individuals to study at a Designated Learning Institution in Canada.

Visitor Visa

In most cases, you will require a visa in order to to enter Canada as a visitor. However, in some situations you may only need a valid passport. Click here to find out if you need a visa.

Extension of Status

It is very common for individuals with a temporary status to apply for an extension of their status. You must apply for an extension at least 30 days before your current status expires. 

Citizenship Application

Upon living in Canada for 1,095 days (3 years) during the last 5 years, you can apply to become a Canadian citizen.
